I'm Michelle Oakes, mommy, teacher and lover of everything crafty. I have been teaching for 14 years, all in first grade. My first grade teacher was my favorite teacher of all, and the reason I wanted to teach. I want my students to love school the way I loved school. I started my teaching career after graduating from Miami University, Ohio with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8. I continued my education at Xavier University where I received a Masters degree in Reading.

1. I love to shop! Target, TJ Maxx and Alter'd State are just a few of the places you'll find me.
2. I love to teach reading. It's my favorite subject. My favorite books are Pete the Cat, Mrs. Wishy Washy and You are Special.
3. I went to high school at Mt. Notre Dame. Just minutes away from Hilltop.
4. I've been nominated for Disney's teacher of the Year and Who's Who Among American Teachers.
5. I love to spend time with my boys.
6. My favorite place to go on a road trip is Nashville!
7. I love to visit the beach and Disney.
