The week before break we had so much fun with adjectives. One of our goals for the end of the year is to get our sweet little friends to add more detail to their writing and using adjectives is the greatest way to accomplish this goal.  So we set our sights on all things adjectives, and as you may have figured out about first grade, we go BIG!

So our introduction to adjectives started with our friend Mr. Kist...ummm....I mean his crazy "twin brother" Fred. We told the kids that while Mr. Kist loved his brother, he was a little different than Mr. Kist. He loves to dress silly and he loved to use adjectives.  He wanted to meet the first graders and see if they loved adjectives just as much.
Here is our class picture with "Fred".
When Fred left we wrote him letters about how much we liked his outfit and the students highlighted the adjectives.
We also read, Many Luscious Lollipops.
Each student was given a lollipop to taste and describe.
Finally, we ended our week with our fashion show.  The kids were amazing and hilarious.  They walked the catwalk like pros to the fashion show music and we read their descriptions as they walked. When they got to the end, they posed.  It was the cutest darn thing ever.
